“Leodum is minum, swylce him mon lac gife.” – Wulf and Eadwacer.
“Swylce” (swill-cha) is an Old English word which means ‘as well/likewise’ if used adverbially or ‘as if, as though’ if used as a conjunction. “As well” – I’ll put my writing here like everyone else puts theirs on their blogs so they can see it whenever we want. “As if” – as if I was a proper writer and could keep up with an actual blog.
I believe the line above is one of the most beautiful lines from one of the most beautiful poems ever written. A poem so beautiful it made me throw up a book.
This is a place for me to put the writing that I would like to be easily available to those I know, and if others stumble upon it and like it then that is just dandy 🙂
